The Philadelphia Eagles obtained the services of Saquon Barkley this offseason in shocking fashion considering that Barkley is one of the most explosively talented running backs in recent memory and was often seen as the New Giants’ biggest hope of ever reaching a Super Bowl under their current coaching administration.

Barkley’s loss left a hole in the hearts of Giants fans setting off jubilant celebrations in Philly. In the early morning hours of Friday, May 3, Barkley took to Twitter to share his unfiltered thoughts on accusations of being a ‘traitor’ to the Giants organization.

Barkley’s surprising comments came as Micah Parsons threw shade at one of the most famous plays in Eagles history. The three best moves by the Eagles in the 2024 NFL Draft were also discussed.

Now, the former Penn State Nittany Lion’s comments are going viral.

Barkley Lets Loose on Critics

Barkley seemed to hint that he “never got an offer to come back” to the Giants and doubled-down on his current status as a Philadelphia Eagle.

According to Barkley, the Eagles organization is the “best” in football and that is a big reason for his excitement.

The Eagles are expected to boost one of the most high-octane offenses in the National Football League this upcoming season with Barkley flanked by quarterback Jalen Hurts, wide receiver AJ Brown and wide receiver DeVonta Smith. The Eagles’ superstar trio is expected to thrive even more this season for Nick Sirianni’s team as Barkley is one of, if not the most talented running backs in the league when healthy.

As Barkley’s comments reveal, the level of excitement he feels for his new start is palpable and Philadelphia fans will likely have a chance to see him at his best this upcoming fall.

Fans and websites offered their retorts to Barkley on Twitter.

Others seemed ready to move on.

Hurts’ Health Holds Key to Eagles Season

Last season, Jalen Hurts wasn’t quite his usual dominant self during the season as he battled a ‘mangled middle finger’ injury that ‘popped out’ on him during the stretch of the season’s final run.

Hurts and Barkley could form one of the best QB-RB duos in recent NFL history. Hurts’ running abilities are well documented, and defenses will have a hard time keying in on both he and Barkley behind a punishing Eagles offensive line, even with Jason Kelce currently retired.

AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith should wreak havoc on the outside, and Hurts has the talent to get them the ball, when healthy.

Giants fans may not like it, but the Eagles are the favorites of the NFC East division for many reasons, and Barkley’s addition could be the biggest one when it’s all said and done.
